The education department has developed programs for all kinds of visitors in order to meet their different needs. We understand the museum as a place of communication between people and art, where pleasure and education, joy and new experiences are combined.

Guided tours through the collection and the temporary exhibitions provide as well information about art as appreciation and delight. We offer programs with special themes for children and adults which can be adjusted to the request of the visitor's group. Do you want to know more about one artist? "All" about a special topic? Or did you always want to know why modern art looks so different? We try to give you some answers or encourage discussions, which will be inspiring and informative, hilarious or unusual.

Visitors with special needs are also welcome, we offer tactile tours for visually impaired persons as well as special programs adjusted to other handicaps.

The education department of the Lehmbruck Museum is member of "Bundesverband Deutscher Kinder- und Jugendmuseen e. V." (BVKJM) and of "Hands On! Europe Association of Children's Museum" (HO!E)
